4th Annual Winter Training School a roaring success
This year's Royce-funded event, hosted for the first time at the new Cavendish Nanofabrication Facility in the Ray Dolby Centre, West Cambridge Campus, continued to deliver excellence as our training school entered into its fourth year.
Delegates from industry and academia alike experienced, hands-on, the wonderful world of microfabrication, including developing key skills in photolithography, etching, metrology and deposition supported by a team of expert experimental officers from the three newest academic cleanrooms in the UK. Each stage of practical activity was supported by in-depth presentations delivered by industry partners and leading academics to provide a comprehensive training package to all.
Established by the University of Leeds, the University of Cambridge and Swansea University in 2023, our national training course seeks to deliver key practical skills and theoretical knowledge in much-needed semiconductor fabrication to researchers and industry from across the UK and beyond. Whether you work in supply chains, equipment manufacture, teaching, policy, or research, if you have a link to semiconductors then this course is for you! We even throw in the odd fire alarm to keep things spicy.
If you missed out this year, then we look forward to receiving your application to our 5th event in 2027, which sees the course return to its inaugral roots at the University of Leeds!
